MESQUITE, Texas – Texas based trio New Day was awarded Favorite New Excelling Artist at last week’s SGM FanFair Awards.

New Day’s Kelley Matthews said, “WOW!  We are still in shock!  We are so grateful to everyone who has believed in our ministry since day one and all those who have supported us in the process.  Thank you to everyone for voting for us!  We are so honored!”

Winners for the 4th Annual SGM FanFair Awards were announced during SGM FanFair at the Chattanooga Convention Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee this past Thursday, April 3, 2008.

New Day scored their first charting single this past year.  The single, “Soul Searchin’”, debuted at #69 on the November issue of the Gospel Music News Top 100 chart.  “Soul Searchin’” was written by John Robinson and is the title cut on the group’s latest release.

Peck, Tim Parton, John Robinson, and Dottie Rambo.  Jessica Harrison also contributed to the songwriting efforts as well as group members Kelley Matthews and Pam Reeves.
